Privacy Policy
Last updated July 12, 2026
PrepOutLoud is operated by Prep Out Loud LLC (“we,” “us”) and provides a spoken mock-interview practice tool. You can try it without creating an account. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. PrepOutLoud is intended for users in the United States.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we receive your email address and basic profile (such as your name) from your chosen sign-in provider, which we use to identify your account.
- Trying without an account. You can take an interview without signing up. Anonymous sessions are not linked to a name or email. We collect basic device and network signals (IP address, approximate region, browser details) to prevent abuse and keep the free tier available.
- Interview content. You answer questions by speaking. Your spoken answers are processed by third-party AI providers to run the interview and produce your feedback. We store the transcript of the conversation, the AI-generated assessments and feedback, and your session settings (competencies, target level). We do not store your raw audio — it is processed in real time and then discarded.
- Feedback you give. Your responses to the short in-app feedback questions.
- Usage data. Basic events about how you use the app (for example, starting or finishing an interview) and first-party page analytics: the page you visited, the referring site or campaign tag, and your browser type. We use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If you create an account, we keep the source that first brought you to the site.
How we use it
- To run your interview, generate your feedback and level read, and show your progress over time.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the product.
- To send account holders a small number of product emails (for example, a reminder after you sign up or finish an interview). Every such email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can opt out any time in Settings. Emails needed to operate your account (such as sign-in codes) are sent regardless.
We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We share data with third-party vendors who process it on our behalf, including:
- AI providers — to run the interview and generate your feedback. Per their API policies, the data we submit is not used to train their models.
- Authentication providers — to let you sign in; we receive your email and basic profile.
- Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting and data storage.
- Email delivery — to send you notifications.
Share cards
You can create a public share card from a completed interview. A card is created only when you choose to share. The public page shows only your result level and a short quote from your feedback, never your transcript, answers, or detailed scores. You can delete a share link at any time in Settings, which takes the public page down.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your interviews and results so you can see your progress, for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings. Deletion immediately and permanently erases your account, interviews, results, share links, and sign-in identity from our live systems. Encrypted backups are kept for disaster recovery and age out automatically within 90 days; we do not use backups to restore deleted accounts. You can also request access to, or deletion of, your data by emailing privacy@prepoutloud.com.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and secure secret storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children
PrepOutLoud is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
United States only
The service is intended for users in the United States and is not directed at the EU/EEA, the UK, or other regions. If you access it from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative.
AI-generated feedback
Feedback and level reads are generated by AI, are for practice and coaching only, and are not professional, hiring, legal, or career advice. They may be inaccurate.
Changes
We may update this policy and will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated in-app.
